Product Details

High Strength Large Hex Bolt is selected for a steel-to-steel bolted connection defined by the approved joint design. Confirm the assembly, joint requirements and installation method; the product name does not establish suitability for concrete anchorage or roof-sheet fixing.

The 2006 editions of GB/T 1228, GB/T 1229, GB/T 1230 and GB/T 1231 are withdrawn. GB/T 1231-2024 is the current GB assembly standard; conformance to a requested edition requires separate confirmation. Identify the required standard, edition, grade and supporting documents before ordering. The current supply reference is GB/T 1231 (edition to confirm) / project-approved structural bolting specification, with Alloy Steel / Carbon Steel, Black / Phosphated / Dacromet, and M12-M30 /10.9S.

Final dimensions, tolerances, grade or class, coating system, matched components, inspection documents and packing must be confirmed against the purchase order, approved drawing or project specification before production.

Selection & Use Steps

  1. Identify the governing standard and edition, grade and approved steel-joint drawing.
  2. Confirm joint type, required pretension where applicable, grip length, thread engagement and compatible nuts and washers.
  3. Specify the complete assembly, finish, lubrication condition and required inspection documents.
  4. Confirm tooling access and the product-specific installation and verification procedure.

Technical Drawing

Large / heavy hex-head bolt technical catalog sheet with head-specific dimensions and reference geometry

Confirm the exact structural or heavy-hex bolt system, dimensional standard, thread length, bearing face, matched nuts and washers. Under-head length l excludes the head; s is measured across the head flats in the end view. This family reference does not establish compliance with a specific structural-bolt assembly standard.

The illustration is a dimension-selection reference, not a manufacturing drawing and not to scale. Final geometry, tolerances, material, finish and mating-part fit must follow the buyer-approved drawing and applicable standard.

Application Environment

Suitable application depends on the confirmed material, grade, finish and project design. Review exposure to moisture, chemicals, salt, temperature, vibration and dissimilar metals before selection.

For outdoor or corrosive service, confirm that the selected coating or stainless grade is compatible with the required service life and installation method.

Installation & Handling Precautions

  • Check bolt, nut and washer compatibility, identification, grip length and thread engagement.
  • Protect components from moisture and contamination and preserve the specified coating and lubrication.
  • Bring the joint into firm contact, then apply the project-approved pretensioning method where required, including its verification and inspection.
  • Do not use a generic torque value or substitute a torshear installation procedure for the selected large hex assembly.
