Product Details

This product combines ASTM A193 Grade B7 alloy-steel bolting with a specified fluoropolymer coating system. “PTFE coated” is not a complete purchase description: the coating brand/system, colour, thickness range, pretreatment, compatible nuts and lubricant must be agreed for the project.

Why coating details matter

Coating thickness changes thread fit and must be coordinated with the nut.
Coating and lubricant change the torque-tension relationship.
Chemical, temperature, UV and handling exposure determine whether the selected system is suitable.
Holiday, adhesion, thickness and cure checks are only included when specified in the inspection plan.

Confirm ASTM A193 B7 and the service environment.
Specify the complete coating system, colour, thickness range, pretreatment and approved applicator requirements if any.
Confirm diameter, thread, total length, chamfer and coated mating nuts.
Approve the inspection plan for dimensions, free nut run, coating thickness/condition and documentation.
Protect coated parts during packing and installation; use the project-approved lubrication and tightening method.

The reference drawing distinguishes end-to-end length from effective thread length. Coating allowance and mating-nut fit must be defined before production; the drawing does not authorize an arbitrary coating build.

Application Environment

Fluoropolymer-coated B7 may be selected for corrosion protection and controlled assembly behaviour when approved by the project. Suitability depends on the complete coating system, operating environment, temperature, chemical exposure and installation method.

The coating does not change the underlying B7 material grade and should not be presented as a substitute for engineering material selection.

Installation & Handling Precautions

Do not drag or impact coated threads; isolate damaged pieces.
Confirm coated nut compatibility and free nut run before site installation.
Do not repair coating with an unspecified material.
Keep the approved lubricant and coating condition consistent with the tightening procedure.
Reject parts with flaking, severe abrasion, blocked threads or lost traceability.
