Product Details

Torshear Bolt is selected for a steel-to-steel bolted connection defined by the approved joint design. Confirm the assembly, joint requirements and installation method; the product name does not establish suitability for concrete anchorage or roof-sheet fixing.

GB/T 3632-2008 replaced GB/T 3633-1995. The former ASTM F1852 and F2280 specifications were withdrawn and replaced by ASTM F3125/F3125M; GB and ASTM assemblies require separate specification and compliance confirmation. Identify the required standard, edition, grade and supporting documents before ordering. The current supply reference is GB/T 3632 (edition to confirm) / separately confirmed ASTM bolting specification, with Alloy Steel / Carbon Steel, Black / Phosphated / Dacromet, and M16-M30 /10.9S.

Final dimensions, tolerances, grade or class, coating system, matched components, inspection documents and packing must be confirmed against the purchase order, approved drawing or project specification before production.

Selection & Use Steps

  1. Identify the governing standard and edition, grade and approved steel-joint drawing.
  2. Confirm joint type, required pretension where applicable, grip length, thread engagement and compatible nuts and washers.
  3. Specify the complete assembly, finish, lubrication condition and required inspection documents.
  4. Confirm tooling access and the product-specific installation and verification procedure.

Technical Drawing

Confirm all dimensions against the approved drawing before production. Typical control points include overall length, diameter, thread series and tolerance, threaded length, end condition, head or point geometry where applicable, coating allowance and mating-part fit.

The technical drawing shown on this page, when available, is a selection reference and does not replace the buyer-approved manufacturing drawing.

Application Environment

Suitable application depends on the confirmed material, grade, finish and project design. Review exposure to moisture, chemicals, salt, temperature, vibration and dissimilar metals before selection.

For outdoor or corrosive service, confirm that the selected coating or stainless grade is compatible with the required service life and installation method.

Installation & Handling Precautions

  • Keep the matched torshear bolt, nut and washer assembly identified and protected from moisture and contamination.
  • Preserve the supplied coating and lubrication; any change requires manufacturer and project approval.
  • For pretensioned joints, complete required pre-installation verification, bring the joint into firm contact and follow the approved tightening sequence with the specified torshear tool.
  • A sheared spline alone does not verify the completed joint; follow the governing inspection procedure.
